Batam cable ski 2010
Hi all,
the club will be organising a trip to batam cable park on the 16th of August, monday. It will be a whole day event, estimated time from 8am-10pm. Land training on that day will be cancelled:)
It will cost $105 per person and if there is enough money, it will be used to buy snacks for the trip. If you are bringing your own wakeboards, it is encouraged to put it into a board bag or edge protector as its required to be checked-in under Singapore Cruise Centre regulations for a fee of S$10/ bag.
Interested people, please let me know by monday, 2 august. Payment and details are to be submitted to me on the same day too. No payment, No go.
Please bring along your passport as i will need your name, d.o.b, passport number, expiry date, nationality and lunch choice(refer to lunch choices below).

I’ve several announcement for you to note:1)Attendance.
I have seen improvement in attendance for land training over the past weeks. Thanks for informing me whenever you are not able to come for training! However, there is still another issue I’d like to point out: please inform me directly if you are unable to turn up for training. Refrain from asking your teammates to relay the message for you. 2) YOG break trainings
Land training will continue during the term break. It’ll be held every Monday and Thursday morning, 9am. Venue to meet will be at FC5. Those unable to come for training, as usual please inform me (Wirda)!

The following events are available for signup. Not all of them are school organised and none is compulsory, however participation is encouraged.
1. Journey of Youth Olympic Flame.
Up till now, we only have three signups. if we are unable to get more participants, it is possible we will not be able to help out as a club. So, you have untill tmr 3pm to inform me if you wish to help out.

12 Aug, 5pm to 10pm. Cheer on the torch bearers of the Olympic Flame as they run along the route in SP.

3. Silver Infocomm Day
Details:
SP and IDA will be jointly organising the annual Silver Infocomm Day 2010 on 19-21 Sep 2010 (right after exam) at SPCC & Auditorium and CIS labs for senior citizens to be equipped with IT skills to bridge the digital gap between the young and the older generations.
We need student volunteers to help out in these 3 days events. Last year, there were many late requests from clubs/individuals asking for Community Service so that they can fulfil their CCA points. Please disseminate this information to your Year 3 students who need to fulfil their Community Service category in the revamped CCA scheme.
Their responsbilities :
(i) The senior citizens will have a hands-on "how to use PC" session. Most may not know how to use a PC. As such, they need our students to assist.
(ii) Refreshment/Lunch provided but no allowance
(iii) Briefing session will take place 1st week of Sep (more details will be provided later)

Poly50
Hi guys,
poly50 will be held in October.
A team will consist of 10 people- 3 girls, 7 guys. The 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th & 50th(last) round will be and must be run by the girls. There will be 3 change over stations in every round.
If interested, please let Wirda know. In this event, even though it is cool to win, take this opportunity to have fun, bond with your team, train and run like crazy. It is an event held only once every year. Don't miss out ;)

The Youth Olympic Flame will be passing through Singapore Polytechnic on 12 August 2010.
The school is looking for clubs to support this event by sending members to participate in a relay of the torch.
Participants will be given a goodie bag- inclusive of an event t-shirt and various cheering items.
The event will start at 5pm and end at 10pm. Other than the relay, the event also has performances, street party, free food and drinks by MacDonalds and Coka Cola
For any questions regarding the event just drop me a text or ask me during the next training.

Please note that the upcoming Monday land training will be used to conduct our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Here are the details:-

I hope all of you take this meeting seriously as there are very important announcements and new policies to be introduced. Also, attendance for this meeting will confirm your membership in the SP wakeboarding club. IVP Updates and Post-IVP Activity

IVP Updates
Congratulations to Sarah Quek, Ng Jian En and Nasrul Nyzam for entering the Finals of the Women's Novice, Men's Novice and Men's Intermediate categories respectively in the recent Rip Curl National IVP Wakeboarding Championships.
Cheers to the entire team for giving their best during the competition.
Special Thanks to club members for the support shown to the team during the competition.
Results of the Finals will be released at the party at Wavehouse on 5 July, Monday.
We will be meeting at 6pm at Dover MRT station. Do inform any of the committee members if you are going so that we wont leave you behind or we can meet you at a seperate location.
